アルギニンの立体構造モデル
概要
塩基性アミノ酸。ラテン語の「白い、 arginoeis」を語源とする。平常時の血中濃度は100mMぐらい。

生理活性
- 内分泌学会の2007年ガイドラインでは、推奨成長ホルモン欠損試験は、「アルギニンとGFRHの組み合わせ負荷によるテスト」。アルギニンだけのテストはメタボに影響されやすいので非推奨[1]
- アルギニンはソマトスタチンの活性を抑制することで成長ホルモンの放出を促進するようだ[2]
- 一酸化窒素シンターゼによりアルギニンから一酸化窒素とシトルリンが合成される。
合成
加水分解によってオルニチンと尿素になり，オルニチン回路の一員。
